Most mass-produced soaps are made with synthetic detergents, artificial fragrances, and chemical preservatives to increase shelf life.
In fact, many are not true “soap” at all — they’re beauty bars or cleansing bars, stripped of natural glycerin and filled with surfactants that can dry or irritate the skin.
